The RKS CARBON S Squeegee blade

Carbon S (patent pending) the latest squeegee from RKS which means, this is an extension within the System Squeegee program. The handling of this is similar to that of the well known RKS System Squeegee. Characteristics differ in that Carbon S can be used in production situations were static build up is a problem, through use of carbon fibre the static build up reduced and/or diverted during the print run. Another advantage is that the flexible/elasticity and the overall stability with the carbon squeegee is much improved. Through this it is possible to produce a thinner and more flexible blade. The Carbon S because of this is well suited for use with flat bed screen printing machines.

Blade height:

The up to 60 mm high Carbon S squeegee blades are mainly intend for mounting into a conventional squeegee holder instead of the conventional squeegee’s with the use of an aluminium shim . The 95, 105 and 115 mm high squeegee blades are fixed directly into the RKS squeegee holder. The added height avoids any pollution of the squeegee holder. But it is possible with the use of a packing piece to use in your standard holder.

Non-standard blade height:

Non-standard blade heights can be made on request. For such heights the price of the next higher standard blade height will be calculated. (E.g. A profile height 70 mm = a price for the height of 95 mm)

Blade design:

The Carbon S is only available in the type 00, this means the CRP/GRP backing has an equal thickness through its height.

The squeegee is available in 2 different variations.

  1. up to a height of 60 mm a wall thickness of ca. 1,2 mm
  2. al other heights above this a wall thickness of ca. 1,7 mm


Rubber thickness and Shore hardness:

6 mm rubber thickness 65° and 75° Shore

8 mm rubber thickness 55°, 65° and 75° Shore

Other rubber thicknesses on request.

Profile lengths:

The maximum length of blade that we can offer at the moment is 2800mm (greater lengths are already underway) requested pre cut lengths are available on request but no discount can be applied.The maximum length of Carbon S HQ that we can offer at the moment is 2600 mm.

The RKS Carbon Squeegee Blade

This is the latest protected RKS product. In view of the fact that most of the screen printing machines are still equipped for the installation of traditional squeegee blades and that all traditional squeegee blades, whether single or multi-layered, do not meet the requirements of the screen printing process in high quality areas. RKS developed a CARBON squeegee blade which can be used and re-ground like a traditional blade, but continues to combine the advantages of the original RKS Squeegee Blade.

The RKS CARBON Squeegee Blade consists of a non-thermoplastic elastomer which is permanently connected to a carbon-fibre-reinforced plastic blade. This squeegee guarantees a uniformity up to now unknown for screen printing squeegees during a reversal of the blade after each printing process and thus a uniform application pressure. A traditional squeegee blade, whether Single-, Double- or Tripple-durometer, may become corrugated after an extended time of use and will thus be unusable since the clamped part of the blade accepts less solvent than the non-clamped part of the squeegee.

In contrast, the RKS CARBON Squeegee Blade is stable and has a longer service life!

To our great delight, we found confirmation of our assumption that the new RKS CARBON Squeegee Blade finally provides an universally usable squeegee blade to make screen printing stable and safe to ensure a high degree of standardization and the reproduction for all printing jobs.
